Joe Walsh, Director of Ashtecs, presented the key changes to the revised draft 2018 Code of Practice at the IOWA Conference in December 2018 a few days after it was launched.
The main changes are:
The inclusion of Drip Distribution and Low Pressure Pipe systems in the CoP due to their excellent performance in low-permeability soilstrials.
The addition of lower permeability soils with infiltration rates increased to 120 minutes for 25mm of water to infiltrate during soil characterisation testing.
The requirement to use a specialist designer for all pressure pipe systems.
There are a number of wording revisions to the CoP which make reading it a significant improvement on the existing 2009 edition.
However, there are further changes and additions which we feel are required to complete the CoP which is under public comment phase until 22 March 2019. We will be making a submission on areas we feel need amendment.
Feel free to contact us to see how the CoP changes could offer additional solution options for your projects or for a presentation on the new Drip and LPP technologies in the CoP.
